Bossard began her commercial seafood career in 1999, when she was hired on board the F/V Sunset. This 65' schooner that was converted into the role of a salmon tender is operated by Murat Aritan. He has been a commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard has been married to Aritan, has joined their alliance to gain access to their respective industries. Both are advocates of conserving renewable and sustainable seafood resources. Otolith is a direct wholesale seafood distributor founded by a woman in Philadelphia in 2007 by a woman who is now the mother of two kids, Bella aged 3, and Andre one year old. The couple is separated by 5 months and more for her to concentrate on her goals in terms of finances and the environment. In July 2016, Bossard and her daughter Isabella age 12 and Andre age 10 Andre aged 10 returned to Southeast Alaska annually each summer as deckhands during the summer wild salmon harvest. Hooks and lines are employed to capture their salmon and then join Aritan to market their products to local processors for 2 months. Then they continue to increase their direct seafood sale through Otolith Sustainable Seafood. Amanda Bossard was hired as a News 12 Anchor/MMJ and News 12 Brooklyn in November 2015.
